First Baya
Baya is another gift given to the newly-wed bride on her first Karwa Chauth. It comprises of eatables like salted mathris, dry-fruits and some gifts which are generally related to the marital use. The woman's mother-in-law also present gifts to all the members of her daughter's family along with Baya. Some mothers also send utensils in the Baya which the daughter later distributes amongst women who join her in the first Karva Chauth Puja as a token of auspiciousness.
